Zazablog

I'd say that my blog is a waste of space, but there are so many worse blogs out there that mine seems like it was written by Socrates.

Eliminated from the playoffs, hockey

My hockey team, Silent But Deadly (6th place), was eliminated from the DMBHL playoffs yesterday after losing in shootouts against Usual Suspects (3rd place). We dominated the game, and were winning until they scored with about 6 minutes left in the second half. The game then went to a 10-minute sudden death overtime period. No one ended up scoring in overtime, so we went to shootouts, in which they outscored us 2-0.

Overall, the season wasn't too good for me. I got injured a lot and our team didn't do well.

I am considering retiring from these highly competetive leagues. I play hockey for fun and for exercise, not to collect trophies and medals. And it's not like I'm making millions of dollars a year playing professional hockey. It isn't worth risking getting injured over, especially now that I am married and soon going to be a father.

When I was young and naive, I used to think that I would be playing hockey until I'm 40.

Then life happened.
