Zazablog

I'd say that my blog is a waste of space, but there are so many worse blogs out there that mine seems like it was written by Socrates.

That's the date, genius

It seems people really are getting dumber.

Recently we got a complaint from a user on Qiran.com which read: "I've been registered on your site for over 2 weeks now, and you still haven't found me a wife. What's going on?"

The other day, a co-worker, S, came to me and asked me where a certain link goes. All she had to go was click on the link to find out.

Another co-worker of mine said, "You approved an image that has the member's phone number on it". I looked up the image again to see if he was right. "That's the date, genius."

Ironically, we also recently got an email from a Qiran member saying that he doesn't understand what we mean by "12/18/2005" in the sentence "Your membership will expire on 12/18/2005". It's the date, genius.

Luckily, S no longer works for our company. She quit on Friday. She's a nice person, but unfortunately no one wanted to work with her because she knew nothing about programming and internet. She didn't speak any French and could hardly speak English so she couldn't even do secretary work properly.

In other news, My wife turned 26 last week and I bought her a digital camera. Yay.

In defense of the guy who didn't know what 12/18/2005 meant, there are a lot of places in the world that use a different date format than us. For many, it's DD/MM/YYYY - that's actually supposed to be the standard in Canada too, I think.

So your user may have been wondering what the 18th month of the year is. It's always best when dealing with users all over the world to write out dates in full - "Decemer 18th, 2005", if possible. If not, then it should be mentioned near the date field what format is used.

True, but 12/18/2005 is obviously December 18th, since 18 cannot be the month.

    I always use DD/MM/YYYY.

When was Sana bhabi's birthday? I need to write everyone's birthday down, I'm not good at remembering them at all.
